Chitol Macher Muitha (Chital Fish Dumpling Curry)

Chitol Macher Muitha is a treasured delicacy of traditional Bengali cuisine, made from chital fish mince shaped into soft dumplings and gently simmered in a light, aromatic gravy. The fish paste is carefully mixed with spices, sometimes onion or ginger, shaped by hand, and lightly fried or directly cooked in the curry to retain its delicate texture.

The gravy—often prepared with mustard oil, turmeric, cumin, and subtle Bengali spices—is gentle yet flavorful, allowing the natural taste of chital fish to shine. চিতল মাছের মুইঠা বাঙালি রান্নার এক অত্যন্ত জনপ্রিয় ও ঐতিহ্যবাহী পদ। চিতল মাছের কিমা মশলার সঙ্গে মেখে হাতে গড়ে মুইঠা বানানো হয়, যা হালকা ভেজে বা সরাসরি ঝোলে ফেলে ধীরে ধীরে রান্না করা হয়—যাতে মুইঠাগুলো নরম ও রসালো থাকে।
